Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GRIT Runner mobile app, website, and related services (the "Service"), provided by GRIT Runner ("GRIT", "we", "us", or "our").
This draft is intended as a product terms baseline and should be reviewed by legal counsel before publication.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required by the laws of your country, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Your Account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk or legal exposure.
Subscriptions and Billing
GRIT offers a paid subscription that unlocks coaching and premium features.
- Subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store or payment provider, such as RevenueCat, Apple, or Google.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your app store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- When you cancel, paid features remain available until the end of the period you already paid for, after which they lock.
- Prices, plans, and features may change. Where required, we will give notice before changes take effect.
- Except where required by law or app store policy, payments are non-refundable.
Health, Fitness, and Medical Disclaimer
GRIT is a training and coaching product, not a medical device or healthcare provider. Coach insights, plans, targets, debriefs, and recommendations are for general informational and training purposes only and are not medical advice.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional before beginning or changing a training program, especially if you have a medical condition, are injured, pregnant, or have concerns about your health. Stop exercising and seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
You are responsible for training within your limits. Running and physical activity carry inherent risks, including injury. You assume those risks when you use the Service.
AI Coaching
Parts of the Service use AI to generate insights, summaries, and plan suggestions. AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation. Use judgment, and do not rely on AI output as professional, medical, or safety advice.
Connected Services and Devices
You may connect third-party services and devices, such as Garmin, Apple Health, or Strava. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and they may change or stop working at any time.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in violation of any law or these Terms.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to access the Service in unauthorized ways.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure.
- Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise other accounts.
- Misrepresent activity data in ways that abuse features, billing, or rankings.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create, such as notes, run data, and share cards. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service. Be careful when sharing routes or run images publicly, as they can reveal sensitive locations.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content we provide, is owned by GRIT or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or branding.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GRIT will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or its users. Some provisions, by their nature, survive termination.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or another reasonable method. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which GRIT is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.
